As promised, I spent the month of April adjusting to my new job. I have about a week of training left to go before I hit the ground running and I can't wait to get started with my new career. All thanks to my Tom.
Now we are on to May. The snow is gone, the grass is green, and the weather is warming up. The wedding is 4 1/2 months away, and I'm starting to feel a little bit of pressure. I wasn't able to completely avoid wedding planning over the past month, so I have a couple things to share over the next couple of days. In the next couple of weeks, my dress and my wedding ring are due to arrive, which means that I get to start fittings. I have started working on our programs, I'm on the third revision, so hopefully I figured it out. Things are going to start getting busy around here, and I can't wait.

5 Months!
And another month bites the dust. Winter is gone, the warm weather is upon us, and it is starting to look like a wedding is coming up.
In regards to wedding planning, my big push for this month was to finish printing and assembling all of our invitations before I started working at the beginning of April. I am happy to report that the box of paper, vellum, and envelopes have been successfully transformed into an attractive box of invitations. I considered posting pictures of the final product on the blog, but I decided to wait until after I mail them out to our guests. So the invitation grand debut will come sometime in July.
In other news, I booked a spa for me and the bridesmaids to use on the morning of the wedding. It will also be the venue for the bridesmaid's tea. The bridesmaids and I are beyond excited about this little detail and it is yet another thing to look forward to on the wedding day. Speaking of the bridesmaids, I'm not sure if I blogged about this, but I finally got their dresses ordered!
We also booked our rehearsal picnic, complete with catering. This also appears to be a hit with the wedding party. Tom and I are looking forward to an afternoon of relaxing on the beach with our closest friends and family. I'm craving an Italian sandwich just thinking about it.
In regards to DIY projects, invitations definitely took center stage. I also managed to finish my little white dress, which will be worn to the rehearsal dinner and possibly our minimoon.
The biggest news of this month is my new job. As I mentioned yesterday, I am going to try to step away from wedding planning a bit to really focus on getting settled with my new schedule. We'll see how well that goes.
My goal for the next month is to focus on our wedding programs and finally figure out a format that is easy to assemble and will fit all the information we need. My dress should be arriving any day now, as should my wedding band. Next month will be four months until the wedding I'm starting to stress just thinking about it.

Corporate America, Here I Come!
Source |
After 8 months of unemployment, I started work on April 4 for a large communications company. Right now I'm at the entry level, but I am going to completely change career paths from education to marketing and work to move up with the company. I just finished my first week of training, and so far I love the place.
I should mention that I now work for the same company as Tom, he totally got me the job.
Right now, the plan is to take a break from wedding planning for the next month. Of course, I can never completely step away from it, so I will still post on occasion. I want to focus my efforts on adjusting to my new schedule. Tom is currently working a bunch of overtime, because weddings are expensive after all, and we are carpooling, which means long days for me too.
I promise I'll be back in full force in May.
